I think I'm emotionally ready (or bored enough) to finally watch Confessions of a Shopaholic. IMDB reviews are far from glowing but who cares anyway.

my version of bliss

Today I died of pretty while paying a visit to Holt’s Last Call. As much as I hate the clothes they have on sale, I am in admiration with their shoe selection. The first ones I tried on were the sky-high & wobbly pink Miu Miu paillette-embellished stilettos (♥), then I proceeded to the silver mid-heeled Louboutin peep-toes which were comfortable but made me look like an ageing red carpet diva... I found Stella’s wooden wedge pumps to be a torture for my feet, while the 5-inch YSL platform pumps and YSL trooper pumps (my boyfriend undeservedly called them “monsters”) surprisingly seemed to have the most stable construction.

Sadly, I didn’t buy any shoes for a variety of reasons, one of them being that I don’t really wear heels. Ever. I only like the look of very high-heeled shoes but those are usually quite wobbly & I don’t want the risk of twisting my ankle. After coming home I did some research: turns out, it’s not my ankles that are weak but it’s the faulty arch construction that makes feet joints collapse. The good news is that, apparently, with the help of some arch support even noobies can wear 4-inch stilettos and not fear a fall. I wonder, is that true at all? Maybe I should then start investing in some big girl shoes? Ha.

wedding hair

I was recently unofficially invited to a wedding happening sometime in fall. And while the date has not been set yet, and my boyfriend has yet to start planning a bachelor party for his little brother, my outfit & hairstyle research are already in full force. Ok, maybe not so much the outfit - there is a bit of a difference between a dress for a September wedding and one in mid-October... but I think I'm pretty set on what hairstyle I'm going to go with.

I'm a huge sucker for messy buns and boho braids that, I know, I know, have been loitering for quite some time now. Still, it is such an effortlessly chic and feminine updo that I simply cannot resist.

As for the outfit, I will keep my eyes open for the perfect dress. Any ideas where I should look? I have been perusing the tFS "What to wear to someone else's wedding?" thread for inspiration & tips but I guess I have to first check with the bride if it's okay to wear certain colors... hmmm...

anthropologie is <3

I just found out I got a part-time job at Anthropologie! I haven't been this excited in a while!
Their first Toronto store opened its door in April in Don Mills. Now Anthropologie is expanding to Yorkville, and that is where I will be working. I cannot wait to start in July!
